FAQ
Every piece of our jewelry is lovingly handcrafted and safe for sensitive skin. We use gold-filled metals to make sure your new treasures last as long as possible
Gold-Filled: The Lowdown
What is Gold-filled jewelry?
Gold-filled jewelry has a thick layer of real gold (at least 5%) permanently bonded to a base metal (usually jeweler's brass). It's way different from gold-plated jewelry, which has a super thin layer of gold that can wear off easily. Think of it like this: gold-filled has 100 times more gold than gold plated!
How long does it last?
With proper care, your gold-filled jewelry can last for years! How you treat it and your lifestyle will play a part, too.
Will it turn my skin green?
Nope, not usually. It's really rare, but some people's skin chemistry can react with gold-filled metals.
Can I wear it in water?
We've worn ours in cold to lukewarm showers with no problems! However, to be safe, we recommend removing it before swimming and in chlorinated pools. If you do get it wet, just wash it with mild soap and warm water.
Can I sleep in it?
It won't damage your jewelry, but we suggest taking it off to avoid tangles or snags.
What should I avoid?
Keep your jewelry away from harsh chemicals like perfume, hairspray, body oils, and lotion. These can make any jewelry, even gold-filled, tarnish faster.
Is it okay for sensitive skin?
Yes! Because it contains real gold, gold-filled jewelry is usually hypoallergenic, just like solid gold, as it is free of nickel and lead.
(Our designer actually has sensitive skin & always wears our jewelry with ease!)
Why does my piece look different than the photos?
Due to all our pearls being genuine, no piece will ever look 100% alike, there will be slight differences (color/texture) but we will do our best to create it with as much love & care as possible <3
